Risk Factors for Albuminuria in Normotensive Older Adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and Normal Renal Function: A Cross-Sectional Study

Yingyi Zhou et al.

Summary: Elevated blood pressure, long duration of diabetes, and poor glycemic control were found to be significant risk factors for albuminuria in normotensive older adults with type 2 diabetes. Low insulin and low C-peptide levels were also identified as independent risk factors for albuminuria. These findings may serve as important indicators for early intervention in older adults with diabetes.
