A fully automated rib fracture detection system on chest CT images and its impact on radiologist performance

Summary: This study compared rib fracture detection and classification by radiologists using CT images with and without a deep learning model. The results showed that radiologists had higher detection recall and classification accuracy when assisted by the deep learning model, as well as improved precision rate, recall rate, and F1-score for fracture detection. Additionally, the radiologists' reading time was significantly reduced when using the deep learning model.
