Advantages and limitations of various treatment chamber designs for reversible and irreversible electroporation in life sciences

Elena Zand et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the advantages and disadvantages of various treatment chamber designs for liquid applications at different scales, and found the effects of different chambers on electroporation of Escherichia coli. Suitable application scenarios for different chambers were suggested based on the targeted electroporation effects.

Biofilm-Forming Ability of Microbacterium lacticum and Staphylococcus capitis Considering Physicochemical and Topographical Surface Properties

Elena Zand et al.

Summary: The biofilm structure of Microbacterium lacticum D84 was found to be more developed compared to Staphylococcus capitis subsp. capitis, with S. capitis showing faster growth but resulting in a relatively flat biofilm structure. Strong correlations were found between several roughness parameters and S. capitis surface coverage, while M. lacticum remained mostly unaffected.
