Studies on the interactions of theaflavin-3,3′-digallate with bovine serum albumin: Multi-spectroscopic analysis and molecular docking

Xia Yu et al.

Summary: By utilizing various experimental techniques such as fluorescence spectroscopy and UV-vis absorption spectroscopy, the interaction mechanism between theaflavin-3,3'-digallate (TFDG) and bovine serum albumin (BSA) was studied, demonstrating that hydrophobic interactions and hydrogen bonds play a dominant role in their interaction. This research provides the possibility for further development of nanoparticles with superior biochemical properties and potential exploration of BSA as a transport carrier for TFDG.

pH-Dependent complexation between β-lactoglobulin and lycopene: Multi-spectroscopy, molecular docking and dynamic simulation study

Ce Wang et al.

Summary: The study found that beta-lactoglobulin had a stronger binding affinity to lycopene at pH 8.1, leading to a more stable complex with higher ABTS radical scavenging activity compared to pH 7.0. The data obtained can provide valuable information for developing a whey protein-based delivery system for lycopene.

The different interactions of two anticancer drugs with bovine serum albumin based on multi-spectrum method combined with molecular dynamics simulations

Haiyan Qi et al.

Summary: Paclitaxel and artemisinin were found to statically quench the fluorescence of BSA when complexed, with a 1:1 stoichiometric ratio. Particularly, the BSA-paclitaxel complex was more stable than the BSA-artemisinin complex, and the binding interactions were mainly driven by electrostatic forces. Additionally, the study concluded that the free drug concentration of paclitaxel in blood was low and the duration time of artemisinin was shorter.
