Low starch/corn silk/ZnO as environmentally friendly nanocomposites assembling on PET fabrics

Atefeh Amani et al.

Summary: A dual hydrogel made from starch and corn silk was incorporated into nano ZnO functionalized polyester fabric, providing flame retardant, antibacterial, self-cleaning properties, and enhancing mechanical characteristics. The presence of dual hydrogel significantly improved cell viability on the polyester fabric treated with nano ZnO. This approach offers a feasible and environmentally friendly method for textile functionalization addressing human health concerns.
