Pericarp development in Campomanesia Ruiz & Pav. (Myrtaceae) species and systematic implications for the genus

Summary: This study ontogenetically analyzed species in the Campomanesia genus to understand and compare the ovary and pericarp parts, identifying features that distinguish species and could aid in elucidating phylogenetic relationships. Some characteristics, such as locule number, ovule development, and glandular locule wall, were found to be promising for species differentiation within the genus, as well as compared with closely related genera in Myrtaceae.
