Summary: The study found that dietary supplementation of chromium yeast (CrYst) significantly improved the growth performance of abalone, while astaxanthin (ASTA) had no significant effects on growth. Additionally, adding CrYst and/or ASTA enhanced the anti-oxidative capacity of abalone and reduced mortality during heat stress.

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of heat stress during final gestation on cortisol concentration, placenta characteristics, and gene expression in goats. Heat stress increased rectal temperature, respiratory frequency, and cortisol levels, as well as altered gene expression related to placenta in the heat-stressed goats. While there was no significant difference in survival or birth weights, kids from heat-stressed goats had higher mortality rates at weaning and altered cortisol signaling, suggesting a lasting effect of heat stress on goat offspring.
