Injectable, self-healing, antibacterial, and hemostatic N,O-carboxymethyl chitosan/oxidized chondroitin sulfate composite hydrogel for wound dressing

Hongbin Li et al.

Summary: This work reports the development of an injectable, self-healing, antibacterial, hemostatic, and biocompatible hydrogel derived from the hybrid of N,O-carboxymethyl chitosan and oxidized chondroitin sulfate, which does not require any chemical crosslinking. The hydrogel exhibited excellent in vivo hemostatic performance and low cell toxicity, making it a promising wound dressing material.

Novel antibacterial cellulose diacetate-based composite 3D scaffold as potential wound dressing

Wencheng Liang et al.

Summary: In this study, novel antibacterial composite scaffolds were prepared with improved water absorption rate, water retention rate, and mechanical strength compared to traditional scaffolds. The addition of hyaluronic acid enhanced the biocompatibility of the scaffolds, and the positive charge in the scaffolds contributed to their antibacterial activity. The scaffolds showed potential for wound healing and could be used as wound dressings.

Summary: In this study, a degradable chitosan-based hydrogel cross-linked by oxidized hyaluronic acid was developed, showing excellent biodegradability and biocompatibility. The hydrogel exhibited good hemostatic performance in rat liver resection injury and was rapidly absorbed by the body without significant accumulation, indicating its potential as a promising hemostatic hydrogel for controlling bleeding.
