Effect of Traditional, Cluster, and Rest Redistribution Set Configurations on Neuromuscular and Perceptual Responses During Strength-Oriented Resistance Training

Jesualdo Cuevas-Aburto et al.

Summary: This study compared the acute effects of traditional, cluster, and rest redistribution set configurations on neuromuscular and perceptual measures of fatigue. The results showed that cluster and rest redistribution set configurations allowed for higher velocities and lower rates of perceived exertion (RPE) during resistance training sessions not performed to failure compared to a traditional set configuration.

Reliability and Validity of the iLOAD Application for Monitoring the Mean Set Velocity During the Back Squat and Bench Press Exercises Performed Against Different Loads

Alejandro Perez-Castilla et al.

Summary: This study evaluated the reliability and validity of the iLOAD application for monitoring mean concentric velocity during resistance training sets. Results showed acceptable reliability for iLOAD compared to LVT at lower loads, and very high agreement between iLOAD and LVT as well as between raters for recording MV during squats and bench press exercises.

Ballistic, maximal strength and strength-endurance performance of male handball players: Are they affected by the evaluator's sex?

Danica Janicijevic et al.

Summary: The sex of the evaluator has minimal influence on physical traits in young male handball players, with low correlations indicating that higher performance in one test with women present does not necessarily mean higher performance with women present in other tests.

Ergogenic Effects of Acute Caffeine Intake on Muscular Endurance and Muscular Strength in Women: A Meta-Analysis

Jozo Grgic et al.

Summary: This meta-analysis found that caffeine ingestion has a significant ergogenic effect on muscular endurance and muscular strength in women. The effects were more pronounced in upper-body exercises compared to lower-body exercises.
