DPPG2-Based Thermosensitive Liposomes with Encapsulated Doxorubicin Combined with Hyperthermia Lead to Higher Doxorubicin Concentrations in the Bladder Compared to Conventional Application in Pigs: A Rationale for the Treatment of Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer

F. Johannes P. van Valenberg et al.

Summary: The combination of intravenous DPPG2-TSL-DOX with hyperthermia achieved higher DOX concentrations in the bladder wall, including in the detrusor muscle, compared to conventional intravenous and intravesical DOX application. Furthermore, the DPPG2-TSL-DOX with hyperthermia led to lower DOX accumulation in the heart and kidneys, indicating its potential as a bladder-sparing treatment for muscle-invasive bladder cancer.

In-Vitro Application of Magnetic Hybrid Niosomes: Targeted siRNA-Delivery for Enhanced Breast Cancer Therapy

Viktor Maurer et al.

Summary: The use of non-ionic surfactant vesicles as a nanocarrier for LFG-specific siRNA successfully downregulated the LFG gene in breast cancer cells, leading to increased efficacy of chemotherapeutics. The application of an external magnetic field enhanced siRNA internalization and activation of apoptotic signaling pathways.
