Effects of topical pilocarpine on ocular growth and refractive development in rabbits

Liyang Tong et al.

Summary: The study found that topical pilocarpine treatment in rabbit eyes led to myopia shift, decreased anterior chamber depth, increased lens thickness and vitreous chamber depth. The expression levels of muscarinic receptors were upregulated in the ciliary body and downregulated in the sclera.

Cytochrome c oxidase deficiency

Michele Brischigliaro et al.

Summary: COX deficiency is characterized by genetic and phenotypic heterogeneity, affecting the whole organism or specific tissues with different disease onsets. Over 30 genes have been linked to COX deficiency, and research on the enzyme's functional features and phenotypical consequences continues to expand through experimental models.
