Absence of CD74 Isoform at 41kDa Prevents the Heterotypic Associations between CD74 and CD44 in Human Lung Adenocarcinoma-derived Cells

Waleed Al Abdulmonem et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated that A549 and H460 cells expressed two distinctive isoforms of CD74 but lacked the isoform at 41 kDa. The absence of this isoform resulted in a lack of direct physical interaction between CD74 and CD44, but did not affect NF-kappa B activation and PGE(2) production. CD74-mediated downstream signaling in human lung cancer cells may occur through coreceptors or indirect interaction with CD44.

The Immunomodulatory Effects of Honey and Associated Flavonoids in Cancer

Razan J. Masad et al.

Summary: Honey, as a traditional Chinese herbal medicine, has shown anti-tumor effects through inhibiting cancer cell growth and potentially modulating immune responses. It has the potential to be used as an adjunct therapy for cancer, but further research is needed to explore its immunomodulatory properties.
