Influence of hydraulic loading rate on performance and energy-efficient of a pilot-scale down-flow hanging sponge reactor treating domestic wastewater

Van-Tung Tra et al.

Summary: The study showed that the COD and TSS removal rates of the DHS reactor varied under different hydraulic loading rates, with NH4+-N removal rate reaching 80% and showing mild sensitivity to HLR changes. This proposed technology brings economic benefits by reducing energy consumption and can provide a feasible treatment solution for low-income areas.

The use of cleaning products and its relationship with the increasing health risks during the COVID-19 pandemic

Sumbule Koksoy Vayisoglu et al.

Summary: During the COVID-19 pandemic, the frequency of cleaning and use of cleaning products significantly increased compared to pre-pandemic times. Common problems associated with cleaning products included skin disturbances and shortness of breath. Factors such as history of contact with COVID-19 patients, perceived risk of infection, and risky cleaning behavior were predictive in determining the risk of experiencing problems related to cleaning products.

Effect of current strength on electrocoagulation using Al-Fe electrodes in COD and TSS removal of domestic wastewater

W. Oktiawan et al.

Summary: Domestic wastewater, which contains parameters that can lead to environmental pollution, can be effectively treated using electrocoagulation technology at specific current strengths and sampling times, with removal efficiency reaching 95%. Electrocoagulation is a process of continuous coagulation using direct electric current, showing significant treatment effects on domestic wastewater.

Pollution Load Allocation on Water Pollution Control in the Citarum River

Mitta Ratna Djuwita et al.

Summary: The Citarum River in Indonesia, a strategic river, suffers from poor water quality. A study on pollution load allocation found that non-point sources contribute the highest pollution load and domestic waste is the main contributor. To improve water quality, reduction measures should focus on non-point sources and domestic waste.
