Visible light-driven photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue dye over bismuth-doped cerium oxide mesoporous nanoparticles

Sajith N. Veedu et al.

Summary: A series of Bi3+-doped ceria nanoparticles were successfully synthesized and showed effective photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue dye under visible light irradiation. Characterization through crystallography, microscopy, and spectroscopy confirmed the effectiveness of doping in the host lattice, along with the mesoporous nature of the nanoparticles. The shift of band gap energy from UV to visible region resulted in the photo degradation of the dye under visible light.

Investigation of β-Ga2O3 thin films grown on epi-GaN/sapphire(0001) substrates by low pressure MOCVD

Tao Zhang et al.

Summary: Beta-Ga2O3 films were grown on epi-GaN/sapphire substrates at different temperatures by low pressure MOCVD. The crystal structure, surface morphology, and element chemical state were influenced by temperature. Higher temperature led to improved crystal quality and surface morphology, as confirmed by XRD, AFM, and SEM analyses.

Assessing the human health risks of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances: A need for greater focus on their interactions as mixtures

Atinuke F. Ojo et al.

Summary: Human health risk assessment of PFAS relies on individual substance exposure data, which may not adequately predict the risk from combined exposure. Recent studies show adverse health outcomes of PFAA exposure, highlighting the need for more focus on potential interactions of mixtures within this class of chemicals.
