An efficient sensitivity analysis for energy performance of building envelope: A continuous derivative based approach

Ainagul Jumabekova et al.

Summary: This article introduces a derivative-based sensitivity analysis approach for heat transfer models in building envelope assessment, utilizing two estimators to evaluate the parameters' influence on model outputs. Comparisons show that the approach is 100 times faster than variance-based methods and effectively reduces the number of unknown model parameters.

Assessing cooling energy reduction potentials by retrofitting traditional cavity walls into passively ventilated cavity walls

Ri Na et al.

Summary: This study introduces a novel and low-cost exterior wall retrofitting solution and quantitatively evaluates its performance in reducing cooling load. The research suggests that this simple low-cost solution has great potentials in reducing buildings' summer cooling load in hot climate regions, suitable for retrofitting existing buildings and new energy-efficient building designs.

Multi-objective optimization of thermochromic glazing based on daylight and energy performance evaluation

Xiaoqiang Hong et al.

Summary: This study investigates the performance of thermochromic glazing for energy saving and daylighting by using multi-objective optimization. Despite the impossibility of simultaneously achieving optimal energy consumption and daylighting, the proposed method still provides low energy consumption with sufficient daylight. Through the non-dominated sorting of Pareto optimal solutions, the optimum building energy consumption and UDI300-3000 values for single and double glazed windows were determined.
