Haze pollution and corruption: A perspective of mediating and moderating roles

Summary: For mitigating carbon emissions, governments have formulated policies to promote the diffusion of low-carbon technologies (LCTs) with pivotal impact from enterprises' strategic choices and consumers' decisions. Carbon taxes show increasing marginal effectiveness in promoting LCT diffusion, while subsidies diminish in effectiveness over time. High demand for low-carbon products can stimulate enterprises to adopt LCTs, but could also magnify the fluctuation of LCT diffusion when demand increases from a low level.
