A review of photovoltaic thermal systems: Achievements and applications

Summary: The study provides a comprehensive review of recent research in the field of PV/T technology, focusing on techniques to reduce photovoltaic module temperature, improve electricity production, and enhance thermal energy utilization. Various methods of cooling solar panels with different fluids, increasing thermal conductivity with nanoparticles, utilizing phase change materials, and enhancing heat transfer with nanomaterials have been explored. The combination of nano-PCMs and nanofluids has shown promising results in theory and practice, presenting higher energy collection and utilization efficiency compared to other PV/T systems. Despite progress, further research efforts and studies are needed to address limitations and improve the technology.
