Dynamic characteristics of the recuperator thermal performance in a S-CO2 Brayton cycle

Hemin Hu et al.

Summary: A 1-dimensional dynamic model was introduced to study the thermodynamic parameter evolution process of the recuperator in a S-CO2 Brayton cycle, revealing that the thermodynamic parameters near the hot end changed first and reached a stable state, while the heat transfer coefficient varied significantly along the flow direction, especially near the cold end. The dynamic response process of thermodynamic parameters in the recuperator was calculated as the generation load ratio decreased, showing an intersection between hot/cold fluid temperature curves and temperature change ranges at recuperator outlets. The model and results provide a foundation for dynamic simulation and control system design of the S-CO2 Brayton cycle.

Economic comparison between sCO2 power cycle and water-steam Rankine cycle for coal-fired power generation system

Jinliang Xu et al.

Summary: The economic comparison between the sCO2 power cycle and the water-steam Rankine cycle shows that the sCO2 power system achieves a higher net power generation efficiency but also slightly higher overall specific cost compared to the water-steam system. Optimizing the recuperator could potentially decrease the specific cost of the sCO2 power system in the future.

Optimal Operation of an Integrated Electricity-heat Energy System Considering Flexible Resources Dispatch for Renewable Integration

Wei Wang et al.

Summary: Large fluctuations may occur in energy supply and load sides when integrating large-scale renewable energies, especially in the integrated electricity-heat energy system (IEHES). This paper introduces flexible resources (FRs) on both sides to alleviate renewable energy fluctuations and improve the flexibility of IEHES through optimal dispatch.
