Evaluation of physiochemical, thermal and kinetic properties of wheat straw by demineralising with leaching reagents for energy applications

Muhammad Hamid Siddiqi et al.

Summary: The study investigated demineralization of wheat straw with various leaching reagents, with 0.6 M HCl solution showing a reduction in ash content and an increase in heating value. On the other hand, NaOH damaged the structure of wheat straw and had adverse effects on its properties.

CO2 gasification of biogenic fuels in a dual fluidized bed reactor system

Anna Magdalena Mauerhofer et al.

Summary: The study suggests that the treatment of different biogenic fuels in a dual fluidized bed gasification process can affect the composition of the product gas, with alkali metals in biomass ash favoring CO production, and the addition of limestone increasing H2 and CO contents.

Influence of pressure and CO2in fluidized bed gasification of waste biomasses

Mateusz Szul et al.

Summary: An autothermal fluidized bed reactor was used to study the influence of pressure on the gasification process of different biomasses. The application of CO2 improved carbon conversion efficiency but made the utilization of resulting product gas challenging.

Techno-economically-driven identification of ideal plant configurations for a new biomass-to-liquid process-A case study for Central-Europe

Simon Maier et al.

Summary: The conversion of agricultural waste into 2nd generation biofuels offers a sustainable solution to future fuel demand. Techno-economic analyses are conducted to determine the optimal process design for different regions. The production costs of new concepts are estimated based on experimental data, with considerations for transportation and refining costs.

Investigation on ash fusion behavior modification of wheat straw by sludge addition

Fenghai Li et al.

Summary: The study found that the addition of aluminum plant sludge had the greatest impact on the ash fusion temperature of wheat straw, while municipal waste-water sludge had the least impact. The influence of different sludges on wheat straw ash fusion was mainly caused by changes in the ratio of oxygen bonds and the content of certain substances.
