A Meta-Modeling Power Consumption Forecasting Approach Combining Client Similarity and Causality

Dimitrios Kontogiannis et al.

Summary: Power forecasting models that combine client similarity and causality metrics using ensembles of LSTM networks achieve more accurate consumption predictions. The novel approach involves training a meta-model based on MLP to optimally combine the results of LSTM ensembles, leading to better overall performance and lower error rates compared to standalone LSTM ensembles. Combining similarity and causality in the model structure results in more performant models than utilizing only one element.

Simultaneous Unknown Input and State Estimation for the Linear System with a Rank-Deficient Distribution Matrix

Yu Hua et al.

Summary: This paper proposes two novel filters based on the linear minimum-variance unbiased estimation criterion to address the issue of the classical recursive three-step filter's inability to be applied in certain scenarios. One filter is designed for cases where the unknown input distribution matrix in the output equation is not of full column rank, while the other filter is developed for situations where the unknown input distribution matrix in the system equation is not of full column rank. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed filters effectively estimate the system state and unknown input.

Fuzzy Control System for Smart Energy Management in Residential Buildings Based on Environmental Data

Dimitrios Kontogiannis et al.

Summary: Modern energy automation solutions and demand response applications rely on load profiles to monitor and manage electricity consumption effectively. This study introduces a fuzzy control system that processes environmental data to recommend minimum energy consumption values for a residential building, utilizing the forward chaining Mamdani approach and decision tree linearization for rule generation. The hybrid feature selector based on XGBoost and decision tree metrics is implemented to determine feature importance and generate a small set of fuzzy rules for analyzing energy consumption behavior.
