Large ultrafast nonlinear optical response and excellent optical limiting behaviour in pyrene-conjugated zinc(II) phthalocyanines at a near-infrared wavelength

Ali Husain et al.

Summary: The study reports the design and synthesis of a new type of nonlinear photonic material, Zinc(II) phthalocyanine macmcycle (Pc-pyrene), with binary oriented pyrene units. The investigation of the ultrafast nonlinear optical characteristics of these macmcycles shows their potential for optical limiting and switching applications, with Pc-pyrene-embedded PMMA films demonstrating significant enhancement in three-photon absorption coefficient and excellent optical limiting threshold.

Nonlinear optical behavior and optical power limiting characteristics of peripheral symmetrical and non-symmetrical zinc phthalocyanines with nanosecond pulsed excitation

Murat Erdem et al.

Summary: The optical nonlinear absorption and optical limiting performances of symmetrical and non-symmetrical zinc phthalocyanines in tetrahydrofuran solution were studied. A new non-symmetrically substituted metallophthalocyanine was synthesized and characterized. The zinc phthalocyanine complexes showed promising optical limiting performances, making them potential candidates for optical limiting materials.
