Heterogeneous Aza-Michael Addition Reaction by the Copper-Based Metal-Organic Framework (CuBTC)

Samiran Bhattacharjee et al.

Summary: CuBTC was found to be an effective heterogeneous catalyst for the aza-Michael addition reaction of various amines to electron deficient alkenes at room temperature, providing high product yields and selectivity. While cyclic and aliphatic amines showed high yields within a short reaction time, aromatic amines exhibited slower reaction rates and lower yields. The catalyst could be reused multiple times without losing activity, and XRD and SEM analysis confirmed the retention of catalyst crystallinity during the reaction.

Chemically Stable Metal-Organic Frameworks: Rational Construction and Application Expansion

Tao He et al.

Summary: Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have shown great potential in various fields due to their structural diversity and functional tunability, but their poor chemical stability has hindered their practical applications. Researchers are actively developing efficient strategies to enhance the stability of MOFs and explore new applications under harsh conditions. By designing and synthesizing chemically stable MOFs, significant progress has been made in addressing global challenges related to environment, energy, and food safety.

Versatility vs stability. Are the assets of metal-organic frameworks deployable in aqueous acidic and basic media?

Elmehdi Moumen et al.

Summary: Exploring the deployment of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) in various applications is a growing research area, mainly driven by their high structural tunability. However, the fine-tuning of MOFs for structural properties-performance is often limited by their chemical and hydrolytic stability. Future directions will focus on how to design frameworks with long-term stability.

Tuning the architectures and luminescence properties of Cu(I) compounds of phenyl and carboranyl pyrazoles: the impact of 2D versus 3D aromatic moieties in the ligand backbone

Joan Soldevila-Sanmartin et al.

Summary: A series of pyrazole ligands with carboranyl groups were successfully synthesized and coordinated with CuI to form different polynuclear compounds, with carboranyl ligands resulting in 0D and 3D coordination compounds. The photoluminescence behavior of these compounds was studied, showing different emission properties such as blue emission with high quantum yield and weak emission in the green region. The results suggest unique emission origins and distortion behaviors in these octahedral compounds, providing new insights into their luminescent properties.
