CsPbBr3@SiO2 Core-Shell Nanoparticle Films for Superhydrophobic Coatings

Yongfei Hu et al.

Summary: Lead halide perovskite nanocrystals have great potential for photoelectronic applications, but maximizing their stability remains a challenge. A novel surface functionalization method was developed, resulting in superhydrophobic SiO2-coated CsPbBr3 nanoparticle films with excellent water repellency, self-cleaning properties, and high stability. The luminescent films showed a 46% increase in photoluminescence intensity over 180 days, and CsPb2Br5-based luminescent films maintained 75% of their initial intensity after 10 days of water soaking. White-light-emitting diode devices using these nanoparticles achieved over 20% external quantum efficiency and maintained high stability even after 2 weeks.

Improving the Mn2+ emission and stability of CsPb(Cl/Br)3 nanocrystals by Ni2+ doping in ambient air

Rui Zhang et al.

Summary: The Mn-doped perovskite CsPb(Cl/Br)(3) nanocrystals with NiCl2 doping can enhance the Mn2+ emission by providing enough halide ions and passivating defect states in the perovskite NCs. The Density Functional Theory (DFT) calculations confirm that Ni2+ doping can eliminate deep defects in the CsPb(Cl/Br)(3) nanocrystals, improving the stability of the perovskite NCs against electron beam irradiation.

Water-Triggered Transformation of Ligand-Free Lead Halide Perovskite Nanocrystal-Embedded Pb(OH)Br with Ultrahigh Stability

Hao Dong et al.

Summary: A facile and environmentally friendly ligand-free approach has been proposed to design and synthesize rod-like CsPb2Br5-embedded Pb(OH)Br nanomaterials with excellent stability under harsh environments like water soaking, heating, and UV illumination. The stable Pb(OH)Br coating effectively prevents the luminescent CsPb2Br5 nanocrystals from reacting with water, leading to extremely high aqueous stability. This technique offers a promising solution for practical applications in the optoelectronic field.

Role of octahedral deformation in the broad-band emission in Mn-doped lead halide perovskite: First-principles investigation for the case of CsPbX3 (X = Cl, Br, I)

Lingting Song et al.

Summary: The study reveals that the deformation of octahedral MnX6 plays a critical role in the broad-band emission of Mn-doped LHPs, with the broad-band luminescence peak associated with Mn 3d orbitals and showing dependence on the halogen element and structural phase of LHPs. Tuning octahedral MnX6 deformation is an efficient way to regulate the luminescence performance of Mn-doped LHPs, and the predictive results could inspire further studies on the applications of doped Mn perovskites.
