How many urinalysis and urine cultures are necessary?

Bart J. Laan et al.

Summary: The study found that unnecessary urine testing is common in non-surgical patients in the Netherlands. Cancelling urine testing orders after a negative dipstick could result in significant cost savings and may potentially reduce overtreatment of asymptomatic bacteriuria.
