Substituent effect on catalytic activity of Co phthalocyanines for oxygen reduction reactions

Anuj Kumar et al.

Summary: Phthalocyanines (Pcs) have been widely studied for their unique properties, and the introduction of t-butyl substitution on CoPcs was found to significantly enhance the oxygen reduction reaction activity. Among the nanocomposites studied, CoL4/GNs exhibited the best performance with an onset potential of 0.95 V and a half peak potential of 0.86 V, comparable to Pt/C standard catalyst.
