Analytical studying the axial performance of fully encapsulated rock bolts

Jianhang Chen et al.

Summary: A theoretical solution was proposed to investigate the performance of fully encapsulated rock bolts, which included simulating the coupling and decoupling behavior of the B/G interface and confirming the feasibility through physical experiments. The advantage of this theoretical model lies in the direct acquisition of all input parameters from experimental pullout scenarios.

Numerical Simulation of the Shear Behaviour of Cement Grout

Jianhang Chen et al.

Summary: Cement grout is widely used in civil and mining engineering, and understanding its shear behavior through numerical direct shear tests is crucial for system stability. The study found that the normal stress on the shear failure plane varied during the direct shear process, with a nonuniform distribution becoming more apparent as the shear displacement reached the shear strength point.

Macro and micro grouting process and the influence mechanism of cracks in soft coal seam

Hui Yu et al.

Summary: This study investigated the grouting process of soft coal seams using the discrete element simulation method, revealing the impact of primary cracks on grouting and analyzing the influence of fracture characteristics and grouting pressure on grouting effectiveness. The results provide valuable insights for determining the optimal spacing of grouting holes in engineering practice.

Studying the performance of fully encapsulated rock bolts with modified structural elements

Jianhang Chen et al.

Summary: In this study, a two-stage shear coupling model was used to simulate the bonding performance of the interface between rock bolts and grout material. The modified cableSELs in FLAC3D showed that the load transfer capacity of rock bolts increased significantly with the diameter of the bolt. The performance of the rock bolting system was observed to change from ductile behavior to brittle behavior as the bolt diameter increased.
