Slope stability analysis considering the rotated anisotropy in soil properties

Zhen Wang et al.

Summary: This paper analyzes the influence of rotated anisotropy on slope stability using the random finite element method. The results show that the rotated angle significantly affects the risk of slope failure, especially when the orientation of the layers is perpendicular to the slip surface, the slope is relatively stable.

Reliability and failure mechanism of a slope with non-stationarity and rotated transverse anisotropy in undrained soil strength

L. Huang et al.

Summary: This study investigates the reliability and failure mechanism of a slope under undrained conditions by combining rotated transverse anisotropy with non-stationary random field. It is found that different directions of the trend significantly affect the expected performance levels of slope reliability, and the failure mechanism can be influenced by the direction of the trend and strata orientation.

Probabilistic stability analysis of geo-structures in anisotropic clayey soils with spatial variability

M. H. Bozorgpour et al.

Summary: This paper presents a probabilistic limit analysis method for studying the geotechnical stability problems of clays with spatial variability and anisotropy. The study utilizes the static lower-bound theorem, finite element method, and mathematical programming to investigate the effects of non-homogeneity and anisotropy of soil shear strength on collapse load.
