Multi-walled carbon nanotube dispersion methodologies in alkaline media and their influence on mechanical reinforcement of alkali-activated nanocomposites

Maliheh Davoodabadi et al.

Summary: This study aims to effectively incorporate multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) into alkali-activated materials (AAMs) for mechanical reinforcement. Different alkaline mediums were investigated for dispersing MWCNTs, with Na2SiO3-based nanofluids showing the best dispersion performance. The nanocomposites prepared with Na2SiO3-based nanofluids exhibited the highest improvements in flexural and compressive strengths.

Effect of alkaline activator ratio on the compressive strength response of POFA-EACC mortar subjected to elevated temperature

Babatunde Abiodun Salami et al.

Summary: The research on the mechanical and microstructural changes of POFA-EACC mortar exposed to different elevated temperatures (300-900 degrees C) for 2 h reveals that specimens exposed to 600 degrees C temperature showed improved compressive strength due to microstructural strengthening aided by post-heating solidification of the molten phase. The phase composition changes in the morphology and residual compressive strength of POFA-EACC were highly manifested after exposure.
