Bioactive silk fibroin scaffold with nanoarchitecture for wound healing

Qiusheng Wang et al.

Summary: This study presents a novel bioactive scaffold designed with biomimetic technology by mimicking the chemical components and biophysical nanostructures of extracellular matrix. The scaffold showed better cytocompatibility to support cell spread, proliferation and differentiation. In vivo experiments demonstrated that the scaffold with nanofibers as a template not only accelerated wound healing but also regulated collagen arrangement to inhibit scar formation.
