Structural tailoring of ceria nanoparticles for fabricating fouling resistant nanocomposite membranes with high flux distillation

Anshul Yadav et al.

Summary: This study focuses on the morphological design of nanocomposite membranes by incorporating ceria (CeO2) filler into the membrane matrix, which enhances the desalination performance. By adjusting the morphology of CeO2, the membrane surface roughness, porosity, and hydrophobicity can be improved, leading to increased permeate flux and salt rejection. The findings suggest that the CeO2 nanoparticles with smooth spherical morphology play a key role in enhancing the overall performance of the membranes for seawater desalination.

Novel MIL101(Fe) impregnated poly(vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) mixed matrix membranes for dye removal from textile industry wastewater

Anshul Yadav et al.

Summary: In this study, the potential of MIL101(Fe) impregnated PVDF-HFP mixed matrix membranes in DCMD technology for dye removal from textile industry wastewater was explored. The permeate flux exponentially increased with feed temperature, while dye rejection decreased with temperature. A decrease in boundary layer thickness resulted in a linear increase in flux with flow rate.

Membrane distillation crystallization for simultaneous recovery of water and salt from tannery industry wastewater using TiO2 modified poly (vinylidene fluoride-co-hexafluoropropylene) nanocomposite membranes

Anshul Yadav et al.

Summary: Membrane distillation crystallization (MDCr) is a promising technology for water recovery and salt crystallization from tannery industry wastewater. TiO2 modified PVDF-HFP nanocomposite membrane showed improved hydrophobicity, porosity, and water flux, with no decrease in salt rejection. Decanoic acid-modified TiO2 nanoparticles (bipyramidal morphology) nanocomposite membrane (M-1B) exhibited high water flux and salt rejection in both synthetic and real tannery wastewater.
