Analytical modeling of micelle growth. 4. Molecular thermodynamics of wormlike micelles from ionic surfactants: Theory vs. experiment

Krassimir D. Danov et al.

Summary: The study predicted the aggregation number and length of wormlike micelles in solutions of ionic surfactant and salt using a theoretical model, which showed excellent agreement with experimental data. High salt concentrations may lead to loss of chemical equilibrium between endcaps and cylindrical parts of wormlike micelles.

Experimental and numerical investigation of mechanical and erosion behavior of barium sulphate filled glass fiber reinforced polymer composites

Mahavir Choudhary et al.

Summary: This research evaluates the effects of barium sulphate contents on glass fiber reinforced epoxy composites, showing that increased content results in improved density, hardness, and interlaminar shear strength but decreased tensile and flexural properties. Erosion tests indicated a semi-ductile nature of the composites between 45 to 75 degrees impingement angles. Computational fluid dynamic analysis was used to calculate erosive wear rate and validate results against experimental data.
