Ocimum basilicium seeds extract as an environmentally friendly antioxidant and corrosion inhibitor for aluminium alloy 2024-T3 corrosion in 3 wt% NaCl medium

Y. Fernine et al.

Summary: The Ocimum basilicium seeds extract (OBSE) was used as an antioxidant and ecological inhibitor against corrosion of 2024-T3 aluminum alloy in 3 wt% NaCl solution. The study showed that increasing the concentration of OBSE can significantly improve the corrosion inhibition efficiency, and through mixed inhibition control, the corrosion process is delayed.

Research of Lilium brownii leaves extract as a commendable and green inhibitor for X70 steel corrosion in hydrochloric acid

Xiuli Zuo et al.

Summary: A corrosion inhibition method based on an extract of Lilium brownii leaves was developed to effectively restrain the corrosion of X70 steel in the pickling process, with a corrosion efficiency of about 85% at all tested temperatures. The mechanism of corrosion inhibition, including the adsorption model and structure-function relationship, was elucidated through comprehensive study and quantum chemistry calculations. This work can potentially inspire the development of high-performance green inhibitors for future applications in pickling solutions.
