Electrochemical oxidation of aniline using Ti/RuO2-SnO2 and Ti/RuO2-IrO2 as anode

Xu Zhu et al.

Summary: The electrocatalytic properties of Ti/RuO2-SnO2 and Ti/RuO2-IrO2 anodes in different electrolytes were studied for aniline degradation. Ti/RuO2-SnO2 showed higher activity in Na2SO4 electrolyte, while Ti/RuO2-IrO2 was more effective in NaCl electrolyte. The presence of Fe2+ can decrease TOC removal efficiency, especially for Ti/RuO2-SnO2.

Bismuth oxychloride-based materials for the removal of organic pollutants in wastewater

Ling Yao et al.

Summary: Different forms of organic compounds are toxic and harmful, leading to issues like eutrophication and odorous water. Photocatalysis is seen as a promising technology to degrade these pollutants into non-toxic inorganic materials under visible light. Bismuth oxychloride (BiOCl) is a potential photocatalyst, but its wide band gap limits its performance. Various methods to enhance its photocatalytic activity have been reviewed, along with the application and future prospects of BiOCl in pollution management.

A hybrid sorbent of α-iron oxide/reduced graphene oxide: Studies for adsorptive removal of tetracycline antibiotics

Shan-Juan Zou et al.

Summary: In this study, nanocomposites of alpha-Fe2O3 nanoparticles on reduced graphene oxide (RGO) were prepared using a one-pot method, showing high adsorption capacity for Tetracyclines antibiotics (TAs) and fitting well with Langmuir and pseudo-second-order equations. The relatively low adsorption of oxytetracycline was attributed to its weak interactions with RGO and slack complexation with alpha-Fe2O3.
