Can diagnostic changes caused by cone beam computed tomography alter the clinical decision in impacted lower third molar treatment plan?

Lucas Moreira Mendonca et al.

Summary: This study observed the impact of changes in diagnosis caused by analysis of three-dimensional images on the treatment plans of impacted lower third molars. The results showed differences between panoramic and cone beam computed tomography assessments, with changes in CBCT examinations affecting intraoperative planning and expectation of post-operative complications. The study concluded that alterations in treatment plans can be influenced by changes in diagnosis after CBCT examination.
