Association between serum zinc levels and recurrent aphthous stomatitis: a meta-analysis with trial sequential analysis

Sadeq A. i Al-Maweri et al.

Summary: The meta-analysis found a significant association between low serum zinc levels and the occurrence of RAS. Subgroup analysis by geographic distribution showed that the association was significant in both Chinese and other populations, with a more pronounced effect in the Chinese subgroup. Trial sequential analysis confirmed the reliability of the results, while also encouraging further large-scale studies of high quality.

Serum interleukin-6, interleukin-17A, and tumor necrosis factor-alpha in patients with recurrent aphthous stomatitis

Chenlu Shen et al.

Summary: The study revealed significantly elevated levels of serum interleukin-6 and tumor necrosis factor-alpha in patients with recurrent aphthous stomatitis, with no significant difference in interleukin-17A levels between the two groups. Further exploration is needed to understand the role of TNF-alpha in the pathology of RAS.
