Clinical Impacts of EGFR Mutation Status: Analysis of 5780 Surgically Resected Lung Cancer Cases

Kenichi Suda et al.

Summary: This study investigated the impacts of EGFR mutation and mutation subtypes in early-stage lung cancer through a retrospective analysis of a Japanese nationwide database. The presence of EGFR mutation was significantly correlated with clinicopathologic factors and better prognosis. Patients with Exon 19 Del mutation exhibited a more aggressive phenotype and poorer prognosis compared to those with L858R mutation.

Comprehensive Molecular and Clinicopathologic Analysis of 200 Pulmonary Invasive Mucinous Adenocarcinomas Identifies Distinct Characteristics of Molecular Subtypes

Jason C. Chang et al.

Summary: The study conducted comprehensive analysis of invasive mucinous adenocarcinoma (IMA) using broad DNA- and RNA-sequencing methods, revealing multiple driver mutations including targetable gene fusions in 51% of KRAS wild-type IMAs. NRG1-rearranged tumors exhibited more aggressive characteristics than KRAS-mutant IMAs.
