Localized electric-field-enhanced low-light detection by a 2D SnS visible-light photodetector*

Hao Wen et al.

Summary: By synthesizing high-quality two-dimensional tin sulfide nanosheets and fabricating a visible-light photodetector, this study achieved a high photoresponsivity and external quantum efficiency. The research suggests that the low-light responsivity of the 2D SnS photodetector is mainly due to a photogating effect. Defects and impurities in the material play a role in trapping carriers and improving overall responsivity under low light conditions.

Graphene/SrTiO3 interface-based UV photodetectors with high responsivity*

Heng Yue et al.

Summary: The research demonstrates that the graphene/SrTiO3 interface-based photodetector shows ultrahigh responsivity and fast response speed, improving significantly compared to traditional detectors. This enhancement is attributed to the interface junction architecture between graphene and the semiconductor, as well as the prolonged lifetime of photoexcited carriers.

High-performance self-powered photodetector based on organic/inorganic hybrid van der Waals heterojunction of rubrene/silicon*

Yancai Xu et al.

Summary: An organic/inorganic hybrid van der Waals heterostructure with an atomically abrupt interface was prepared in this study, and a self-powered photodetector was constructed based on this hybrid heterojunction. The photodetector showed excellent performance with high on/off current ratio, maximum photocurrent, responsivity, detectivity, and fast response time. The designed heterojunction photodetector has promising applications in the field of multifunctional optoelectronics.

Dual-wavelength ultraviolet photodetector based on vertical (Al,Ga)N nanowires and graphene*

Min Zhou et al.

Summary: The successful demonstration of a dual-wavelength UV photodetector based on (Al,Ga)N nanowires and graphene showed clear UV-A and UV-C responses, fast response time, and high rejection ratio. The underlying mechanism of the dual-wavelength detections was systematically analyzed in this study.
