The effects of prior creep-fatigue on the strain rate sensitivity of a P92 welded joint

Yuxuan Song et al.

Summary: This study investigated the high-temperature creep-fatigue interaction on the mechanical properties of P92 welded joints using nanoindentation to analyze the evolution of local strain rate sensitivity. Different creep, fatigue, and creep-fatigue loadings were applied to understand the effect of CF interaction on the structure and properties of the welded joint. Structural changes during service damage were characterized using electron backscatter diffraction, and the local variation mechanism of hardness and SRS at different microstructural zones was systematically discussed based on the evolution of grain size and dislocation density.

Summary: By annealing at different temperatures, the density, hardness, and elastic modulus of the PTFE film can be increased, while the room-temperature creep resistance is improved. Meanwhile, the elastic recovery ratio during scratch testing decreases with higher annealing temperatures.

Summary: This study investigated the influence of high-temperature creep-fatigue interaction on the service damage of P92 welded joint based on the evolution of local creep behavior by nanoindentation. The variations in creep resistance and high-angle grain boundary distributions in different microstructural zones of the welded joint under individual creep, fatigue and creep-fatigue loadings were systematically discussed.
