Particulate organic carbon exports from the terrestrial biosphere controlled by erosion

Xuling Luo et al.

Summary: This study reanalyzed and generated POC flux data of major rivers worldwide using updated databases and models. The results show that Asia exports the most POC, with the Amazon basin being a major contributor to the Atlantic POC. Additionally, there are two key zones of POC flux in the latitude belt.

Limitations of soil moisture and formation rate on vegetation growth in karst areas

Sirui Zhang et al.

Summary: This study identifies the thresholds of soil formation rate (SFR) and soil moisture (SM) in vegetation growth in karst areas, and establishes a spatial map of static/dynamic limitation zones in global karst ecosystems. The findings show that net primary productivity (NPP) in 70% of global climate zones is dual-restricted by SM and SIR, with the most significant limitations observed in subpolar and semi-arid climates.

Response of the weathering carbon sink in terrestrial rocks to climate variables and ecological restoration in China

Suhua Gong et al.

Summary: This study estimated the carbon sink of 12 types of terrestrial rocks in China and quantitatively evaluated the relative contribution rates of climate change and ecological restoration using the GEM-CO2 model and the Lindeman-Merenda-Gold model. The results showed that different types of rocks had significant differences in carbon sink, and water budget and precipitation were important factors affecting carbon sink.

The Environmental Impacts of Informal Economies in China: Inverted U-shaped Relationship and Regional Variances

Yang Jiangmin et al.

Summary: This paper investigates the long-term dynamic impacts of China's informal economies on pollution, finding an inverted U-shaped relationship between informal economies and pollution. This relationship varies across regions in China and is influenced by different environmental impact factors. The paper concludes with policy implications for environmental protection and sustainable development.

Spatial Heterogeneity of Agricultural Science and Technology Parks Technology Diffusion: A Case Study of Yangling ASTP

Wang Zhao et al.

Summary: This study analyzed the diffusion laws of agricultural science and technology parks (ASTPs) in China, with a focus on the heterogeneous space of the Loess Plateau. The results showed strong spatial heterogeneity in the diffusion environment and a spatial diffusion pattern of expansion diffusion supplemented by hierarchical diffusion and banded diffusion for ASTP technology in the region. The study also found a strong distance attenuation effect and highlighted the importance of improving diffusion environmental quality to reduce the frictional effect of distance on technology diffusion.

Global CO2 Consumption by Silicate Rock Chemical Weathering: Its Past and Future

Sirui Zhang et al.

Summary: This study calculated the magnitude and distribution of the global silicate rock weathering carbon sink using high-precision data and predicted future trends. Brazil is the largest contributor to the global silicate rock weathering carbon sink, and future temperature changes will continue to impact carbon sink capacity.

Trade-offs/Synergies in Land-use Function Changes in Central China from 2000 to 2015

Qing Li et al.

Summary: By utilizing a framework based on sustainable land-use theory, this research evaluated the changes in multiple land-use functions in central China from 2000 to 2015. The study found that agricultural production and ecological service functions increased significantly, while living function saw a smaller increase. The changes in agricultural production were positively correlated with changes in living function, and negatively correlated with changes in ecological service function.
