Ultra-small zinc oxide nanosheets anchored onto sodium bismuth sulfide nanoribbons as solar-driven photocatalysts for removal of toxic pollutants and phtotoelectrocatalytic water oxidation

Ravindranadh Koutavarapu et al.

Summary: Heterostructured nanohybrids of NaBiS2 and ZnO were prepared for tetracycline degradation and photoelectrochemical water oxidation. By tuning the band gap, efficient degradation of tetracycline within 90 minutes and exceptional performance in PEC were achieved. Detailed photocatalytic mechanisms were discussed in the study.

Nanostructured NaFeS2 as a cost-effective and robust electrocatalyst for hydrogen and oxygen evolution with reduced overpotentials

V. G. Dileepkumar et al.

Summary: The stable and highly active electrocatalyst NaFeS2, prepared by the hydrothermal method, shows remarkable performance in both hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) with enhanced electrocatalytic activity. The material outperforms other electrocatalysts in its category, displaying improved efficiency and stability for water splitting applications. The study highlights the potential of NaFeS2 as a promising bifunctional electrocatalyst for large-scale hydrogen productions.

In-situ synthesis of CuS@carbon nanocomposites and application in enhanced photo-fenton degradation of 2,4-DCP

Yi Chen et al.

Summary: CuS nanoparticles embedded into carbon nanosheets (CuS@CNs) were prepared in situ using wheat straw cellulose/feather protein hydrogel beads as templates for photocatalytic activation of H2O2 to degrade 2,4-dichlorphenol (2,4-DCP). The CuS@CNs showed excellent photo-Fenton degradation performance for 2,4-DCP, with (OH)• being the main active radicals contributing to the degradation. Incorporation of carbon nanosheets significantly improved the separation of photogenerated charge carriers to stimulate pollutant degradation by CuS nanoparticles.
