Ion exchange based approach for rapid and selective Pb(II) removal using iron oxide decorated metal organic framework hybrid

Prateek Goyal et al.

Summary: The study found that the polyacrylic acid capped Fe3O4 - Cu-MOF (i-MOF) hybrid demonstrated excellent adsorption performance and high selectivity in lead ion removal from contaminated water. Through ion exchange mechanism, i-MOF showed efficient removal of lead ions, even in the presence of other ions, indicating it as a viable option for treating lead contaminated water.

One-step fabrication of artificial humic acid-functionalized colloid-like magnetic biochar for rapid heavy metal removal

Fan Yang et al.

Summary: A novel colloid-like magnetic biochar with high dispersibility was prepared using porous biochar as a skeleton, with A-HA obtained from waste biomass through hydrothermal humification playing a key role in enhancing heavy metal ion removal performance. The introduction of A-HA not only facilitated the dispersion of magnetic nanoparticles on the biochar skeleton, but also improved the removal of Cd2+ ions, showing great potential for practical applications.

Performance of lead ion removal by the three-dimensional carbon foam supported nanoscale zero-valent iron composite

Shuaishuai Li et al.

Summary: In this study, nano-zero-valent iron (nZVI) particles were immobilized on carbon foam (CF) with a three-dimensional network structure, exhibiting superior adsorption capacity for Pb2+. The novel structure of CF-nZVI shows good dispersibility and potential for environmental remediation due to low cost and easy separation.
