Integrated vertical electrical sounding and hydrogeological approach for detailed groundwater pathways investigation: Go spacing diaeresis kpinar Dam Lake, Denizli, Turkey

Mohamed Salem Oudeika et al.

Summary: Understanding the hydrodynamic systems in the dam lake surroundings is crucial for protecting the lakes feeding zones and maintaining their water level. A combination of hydrogeological and geophysical surveying processes was used to distinguish the recharge ways of the Gokpinar dam lake, which are fed by several groundwater flows from different directions in the study area. The study area's complex hydrogeological system makes it challenging to identify the groundwater flow pathways feeding the lake.

Quantifying the dynamics of sub-daily to seasonal hydrological interactions of Ganges river with groundwater in a densely populated city: Implications to vulnerability of drinking water sources

Prerona Das et al.

Summary: Groundwater resources in South Asian cities are under immense stress due to over-extraction, while the mega rivers of Himalayas play a crucial role in supporting food and water security in the region. The study reveals that infiltrating river water during the monsoon season plays a primary role in controlling aquifer storage, although it also contaminates the groundwater.
