500-Fold Amplification of Small Molecule Circularly Polarised Luminescence through Circularly Polarised FRET

Jessica Wade et al.

Summary: The study presents a method to achieve nearly 1000-fold chiroptical amplification by embedding a pi-extended superhelicene in an achiral conjugated polymer matrix. This approach significantly increases the chiroptical factor of the superhelicene in solid-state blend films, offering a simple and versatile way to enhance the g-factors of small organic molecules.

Donor/Acceptor Pairs Created by Electrostatic Interaction: Design, Synthesis, and Investigation on the Exciplex Formed Within the Pair

Lei He et al.

Summary: In this study, donor/acceptor pairs created by electrostatic interaction have been successfully isolated, showing thermally activated delayed fluorescence. By changing the anchoring position of the imidazolium cation in the cationic acceptor, the interaction between the donor and acceptor can be tuned to achieve higher luminescence efficiency. These D/A pairs exhibit intriguing mechanochromic luminescence and promising performances as emitters in organic light-emitting diodes in the solid state.

Designs and Applications of Circularly Polarized Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence Molecules

Lucas Frederic et al.

Summary: The development of efficient CP-Organic Light-Emitting Diodes (CP-OLEDs) through the design of fluorophores merging circularly polarized (CP) luminescence and thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) properties is a promising direction. This progress report provides an overview of molecular designs explored to obtain CP-TADF properties, their performance as chiral emitters in CP-OLEDs, and the future challenges in this emerging research field.

Improving the efficiency of exciplex based OLEDs by controlling the different configurations of the donor

Ning Zhang et al.

Summary: Two D-A-D type donor materials, Pra-2DMAC and Prm-2DMAC, were designed and synthesized for exciplex based OLEDs. Pra-2DMAC outperformed Prm-2DMAC due to its vertical molecular configuration, resulting in a high EQE of 15.0% and stable electroluminescence spectrum. This study demonstrates the superiority of vertical configuration donors in an exciplex system.
