Quantifying Impact of Intrinsic Flexibility on Molecular Adsorption in Zeolites

Alan S. S. Daou et al.

Summary: The majority of molecular simulations on adsorption in zeolites and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are conducted using rigid frameworks rather than flexible ones. Recent studies suggest that the impact of framework flexibility on molecular adsorption in zeolites is minimal compared to MOFs.

Monte carlo simulations and experiments of all-silica zeolite LTA assembly combining structure directing agents that match cage sizes

Cecilia Bores et al.

Summary: The study found that using two OSDAs matching the pore sizes of LTA can accelerate the crystallization process, which was confirmed by experimental studies. The speedup in crystallization was explained by the packing effects through analyses of simulated rings and their Si-O-Si angular energies during RxMC crystallizations.

Identifying Order and Disorder in Double Four-Membered Rings via Raman Spectroscopy during Crystallization of LTA Zeolite

Song Luo et al.

Summary: Fluoride (F-) plays a crucial role in the synthesis of low-defects siliceous zeolites by balancing positive charges from organic structure-directing agents and stabilizing key building units such as the double four-membered ring (D4R). The presence of F- in the crystallization process leads to the formation of distinct Raman features of F-/D4R and empty D4R units in the synthesized LTA zeolite, indicating an ordered distribution of these units in the final crystals. This study provides deeper insights into the roles of F- in stabilizing intact D4R units and maintaining charge balance during zeolite formation.
