Partial melting due to breakdown of phengite and amphibole in retrogressed eclogite of deep Precambrian crust: An example from the Algonquin terrane, western Grenville Province, Canada

Wentao Cao et al.

Summary: Characterizing partial melting of eclogite in Precambrian orogens is crucial for understanding petrological processes in deep orogenic crust. Retrogressed eclogite samples from the Algonquin terrane show evidence of complex post-peak pressure evolution, with various exhumation- and melt-related textures forming.

Reconstruction of the thermal history of the northwestern part of the Brunovistulicum

Teresa Oberc-Dziedzic et al.

Summary: This study documents the thermal-tectonic history of the Strzelin Massif within the Bohemian Massif, presenting new SHRIMP U-Pb ages for three samples and supplementing existing zircon ages. The major peculiarities of the geology of the Strzelin Massif compared with other structural units in the region are identified, including klippen of the Saxothuringian rocks, medium and low-pressure metamorphism, two stages of migmatization, presence of a thermal dome, long-lasting granite magmatism, and repeated intrusions of small volume, geochemically diverse magmas controlled by faults and cracks.
