Determining the quantitative relationship between glycolysis and GAPDH in cancer cells exhibiting the Warburg effect

Summary: Previous studies have identified GAPDH as a promising target for treating cancer and modulating immunity due to its ability to reduce glycolysis, particularly in cancer cells with the Warburg effect. This study found that while reducing GAPDH activity had little effect on glycolysis rate initially, further reduction below a certain threshold led to proportional decreases in glycolysis rate. The study also revealed that the concentration of GA3P, a substrate of GAPDH, plays a role in stabilizing glycolysis rate when GAPDH activity is compromised.
