Dissociation of High-Lying Electronic States of NO2+ in the 15.5-20 eV Region

Xiaofeng Tang et al.

Summary: A study of dissociative photoionization of high-lying electronic states of NO2 showed that the product yields are sensitive to autoionization processes, with different states dissociating into different products. The dissociative mechanisms have strong state-specific character, as observed in high-resolution electron and ion kinetic energy correlation diagrams.

Photoionization of methanol: a molecular source for the prebiotic chemistry

Daniele Catone et al.

Summary: This study investigates the reaction of labelled methanol CD3OH?+ radical cation with neutral CD3OH, shedding light on the dynamics of main reaction channels through theoretical calculations. The results suggest these processes can be potential pathways for the formation of fundamental species, which are precursors to prebiotic molecules.

VUV photoionization and dissociative photoionization of o-xylene: experimental and theoretical insights

Yujie Zhao et al.

Summary: The photoionization and dissociative photoionization of o-xylene were studied using synchrotron radiation vacuum ultraviolet light. The ionization energy and appearance energies of fragment ions were determined, with a detailed mechanism presented for C6H6+ dissociation. Geometries of intermediates, transition states, and products were performed, with discussions on the mechanisms involved.

Photoionization Cross Section of the NH2 Free Radical in the 11.1-15.7 eV Energy Range

Oliver J. Harper et al.

Summary: The absolute photoionization cross section of NH2 radical has been measured for the first time in this study at two photon energies, which will aid in refining current astrophysical models by scaling the total ion yield and providing valuable insight into the photochemical processes.

A critical review on the interactions of microplastics with heavy metals: Mechanism and their combined effect on organisms and humans

Yanxiao Cao et al.

Summary: Limited knowledge is available on the interactions between heavy metals and microplastics (MPs), as well as potential biological impacts from their combinations. Factors influencing the adsorption of heavy metals on MPs, such as polymer properties and chemical properties of heavy metals, are important to consider. Potential combined toxic effects from MPs and heavy metals on organisms and human health are a key focus for further research.

Source profiles and emission factors of VOCs from solvent-based architectural coatings and their contributions to ozone and secondary organic aerosol formation in China

Meiping Gao et al.

Summary: This study investigated the contribution of solvent-based architectural coatings to atmospheric pollution in China, including VOC emissions and the formation of ozone and SOA. Results showed that strategies for eliminating ozone and SOA should prioritize aromatic organic groups and highly reactive VOC species.

Photoionization of H2+ beyond the dipole approximation with zeptosecond time resolution

Zhao-Han Zhang et al.

Summary: In this study, numerical simulations were conducted on the photoionization of a hydrogen molecular ion exposed to a monochromatic extreme ultraviolet laser field beyond the dipole approximation. It was found that at short internuclear distances, electrons are more concentrated in the center of the molecule and exhibit single-slit diffraction characteristics. The extracted birth time delay of photoemission from two nuclei is on the order of a few hundred zeptoseconds, consistent with experimental measurements in H-2.
