High-efficient charge separation driven directionally by pyridine rings grafted on carbon nitride edge for boosting photocatalytic hydrogen evolution

Chunmei Li et al.

Summary: This study achieves dual regulation of adjusting electron hybridization structure and electron directional transfer from center to edge of CN by grafting pyridine rings on the edge of CN framework, promoting separation of photogenerated carriers and avoiding recombination. The HER rate of up to 6317.5 μmol g(-1) h(-1) is obtained over the optimum 2AP-CN-15 sample, with an apparent quantum efficiency reaching 20.1% at 420 nm.

In-situ construction of Z-scheme g-C3N4/WO3 composite with enhanced visible-light responsive performance for nitenpyram degradation

Shiqiao Zhou et al.

Summary: By developing a Z-scheme WO3/g-C3N4 photocatalyst, the degradation activity of nitenpyram was significantly improved. The enhancement is attributed to the fast transfer of photogenerated carriers in the Z-scheme structure. The study provides important insights into understanding the degradation mechanism of pesticides in real water environmental conditions and promoting the development of environmental remediation technologies.

Jian Lu et al.

Summary: This work presents the development of irregular dot array nanocomposite bisphenol A (BPA)-molecularly imprinted membranes (BPA-MIMs) through a modification-by-imprinting strategy, with superior selectivity, rebinding capacity, and flux. The membranes show impressive permselectivity coefficients and stability, along with concentration-dependent and time-dependent cumulative selectivity, demonstrating the potential for membrane-based water treatment and specific separation.

Benzoyl isothiocyanate as a precursor to design of ultrathin and high-crystalline g-C3N4-based donor-acceptor conjugated copolymers for superior photocatalytic H2 production

Huinan Che et al.

Summary: Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) is an ideal photocatalyst for photocatalytic H-2 evolution, but improving both the photocatalytic activity and apparent quantum efficiency (AQE) remains a challenge. Recent research on ultrathin and donor-acceptor (D-A) conjugated structures has shown promising results in enhancing H-2 evolution by providing more reactive sites and promoting intramolecular charge separation. The new design of ultrathin g-C3N4 (UCN)-BIx D-A conjugated copolymers, achieved through copolymerization with urea using benzoyl isothiocyanate (BI) as a precursor, successfully enhances charge separation efficiency and achieves high photocatalytic activity and AQE for H-2 evolution.

In situ construction of protonated g-C3N4/Ti3C2 MXene Schottky heterojunctions for efficient photocatalytic hydrogen production

Haotian Xu et al.

Summary: The heterojunction photocatalyst of PCN/Ti3C2 MXene exhibits a highly improved hydrogen evolution rate, thanks to the well-defined dimensionality and perfectly matched interfaces with strong interfacial interactions. The charge-regulated surfaces of PCN and the accelerated charge transport at the face-to-face 2D/2D Schottky heterojunction interface are the main reasons for the excellent hydrogen evolution performance.
