Gas supersaturation and diffusion joint controlled CH4 nanobubble evolution during hydrate dissociation

Cong Chen et al.

Summary: The characteristics of CH4 nanobubbles during NGHs dissociation vary with hydrate dissociation temperature, with higher temperatures leading to earlier bubble nucleation and more complex evolution paths. Gas supersaturation and CH4 molecule diffusion govern the evolution of CH4 nanobubbles, with nanobubbles more likely to form outside the adsorption zone at lower temperatures where CH4 diffusion coefficient is larger.

Depressurization-induced changes in memory effect of hydrate reformation correlated with sediment morphology

Chuanxiao Cheng et al.

Summary: Research on the memory effect in hydrate reformation shows that depressurization leads to a weakening of the memory effect, except for an anomalous enhancement observed at extremely low backpressure. Depressurization not only alters the memory effect, but also increases the stable interval and supercooling degree of the memory effect.

Dehydration behavior of a natural hydrated Ca-chabazite studied by in-situ high-temperature single-crystal X-ray diffraction

Akihiko Nakatsuka et al.

Summary: The dehydration behavior of a natural hydrated Ca-chabazite has been studied by in-situ high-temperature single-crystal X-ray diffraction data at different temperatures. The temperature-dependent migration of water molecules and cations in the structure, as well as the discovery of new extraframework sites, have been summarized and rationalized. The peculiar temperature dependence of Si/Al-O bond lengths in the framework structure was explained by the bond-valence variations due to dehydration and cation migration processes.

Effect of nanoparticles as a substitute for kinetic additives on the hydrate-based CO2 capture

Zucheng Cheng et al.

Summary: The research proposes a novel mixed additive composed of SiO2/Al2O3 nanoparticles (NPs) and tetrabutylammonium-bromide (TBAB), which can significantly reduce the induction time of hydrate formation, increase gas consumption, and accelerate the rate of hydrate formation.

Dependence of the hydrate-based CO2 storage process on the hydrate reservoir environment in high-efficiency storage methods

Yongchen Song et al.

Summary: The study indicates that high initial water saturation and suitable temperatures and pressures in marine sediments contribute to higher efficiency in CO2 storage using hydrates. SiO2 nanoparticles are an effective kinetic additive that can improve water conversion percentage and CO2 storage efficiency.
