Summary: A novel pervaporation-assisted pressure swing reactive distillation process for DMC synthesis has been proposed, showing about 32% energy savings and approximately 42% lower annual cost compared to the reference reactive distillation process reported in literature. This new intensified process also significantly improves sustainability metrics.
